Samsung Galaxy S23 Series Gets Stable One UI 9.0 Update
Samsung has begun rolling out the stable One UI 9.0 update, based on Android 17, to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra. The rollout has started in South Korea, with availability in other markets expected to expand gradually.
What’s new in the Galaxy S23 One UI 9.0 update?
The update carries a firmware build ending in GZIF and includes the October 2026 security patches, which address numerous security vulnerabilities. Galaxy S23 owners who participated in the beta programme may receive a smaller download that moves their devices from the beta software to the stable release.
Users moving directly from an earlier stable version should expect a larger download. The exact package size and availability can vary by model, software version and region.
One UI 9.0 features
One UI 9.0 introduces more Quick Panel customization, refinements to Samsung DeX and Notes, accessibility improvements, and additional privacy and AI features on supported Galaxy devices. Feature availability can differ by model and region.
How to check for the update
Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra users can check manually by opening Settings → Software update → Download and install. If the update is not available yet, it may not have reached their country or device variant.
For now, the confirmed rollout is in South Korea. Samsung has not made the update available to every region at once, so users in Uganda and other markets should check their devices periodically and wait for the official regional release.
What Galaxy S23 users should know
One UI 9.0 is expected to be the final major Android/One UI upgrade for the Galaxy S23 series, after which the phones will continue receiving security updates according to Samsung’s support schedule.
