iPhone Duo Resells for Nearly $5,000 on eBay After Pre-Orders Sell Out
Apple’s first foldable iPhone is already commanding a major resale premium. A sold eBay listing for an iPhone Duo in Night Sky with 2TB of storage shows a price of US$4,999.99, even before the device’s official launch.

Nearly $1,800 above Apple’s price
Apple lists the 2TB iPhone Duo configuration at US$3,199 in the United States. The reported eBay sale therefore represents a premium of about US$1,800. A separate Night Sky model with 1TB of storage was also marked sold for US$4,400, compared with Apple’s US$2,599 retail price.
The resale activity comes as Apple’s online store pushed estimated delivery dates into January 2027 shortly after pre-orders opened. The longer wait appears to be encouraging some buyers to pay significantly more to secure an early unit.
Should buyers pay the markup?
These early resale prices reflect reported listings and do not guarantee that the wider market will sustain the same premiums. Buyers may want to compare the resale cost with Apple’s official price and wait for availability to improve before making a decision.
